Transport Supervisor +-

Position: Transport Supervisor
Reports to: Head of Operations
Location: Crawley, RH10 9TU

Purpose of the Role

Reporting to the Head of Operations, as Transport Supervisor for Presteigne Broadcast Hire (Crawley Base), you will be responsible for overseeing the transport operation and associated staff.



Key Responsibilities
  • You will be responsible for monitoring the performance of transport staff, including the implementation of training as necessary to members of the transport team. You will manage and delegate workloads across the transport team, including overtime ensuring the smooth and efficient running the department and schedule, distribute and follow up all daily work assignments
  • You will be responsible for the creation of driver schedules and route planning to ensure the efficient use of driver hours when planning kit pick-ups
  • You will be responsible for confirming with clients that the kit is ready for pick-up to avoid wasted journeys/time
  • You will manage and record driver hours ensuring compliance with all current legislation
  • You will pro-actively manage health and safety within the working environment and report any concerns to the Head of Operations
  • You will keep up-to-date records of driving licences, driving qualifications and any motoring offences incurred by members of the transport team
  • You will log any accidents, and report any incidents immediately to the Head of Operations, and complete all necessary reports
  • You will manage the maintenance of the company vehicles, ensuring that any servicing is carried out as it falls due; you will also organise repairs, replacement tyres as and when necessary
  • You will ensure that vehicle checks are carried out regularly as per the existing schedule
  • You will confer with, and coordinate activities with other departments including warehouse and engineering and work closely with them to achieve operational efficiencies across the departments
  • You will book couriers and agency drivers as a when necessary
  • You will be responsible for and manage the completion of any Carnet documentation required
  • You will receive training on the R2 asset management system which you will use to track and book kit
  • You will liaise with outside suppliers and clients, as and when required, and maintain professional relationships with all external contacts
  • You will drive company vehicles as and when necessary to create operational efficiencies
  • You will ensure all necessary paperwork/inventories/documentation is completed accurately and in a timely fashion

Special Conditions

The role works on a shift basis between 08:00 to 19:00, Monday to Friday, as a result your hours may be scheduled for any 9-hour period (which includes an hour lunch break), per day, within this period.

Overtime/weekend work may be required within this position but is planned in advance.

Operations Analyst +-

Position: Operations Analyst - Permanent
Reports to: Head of Finance with close working relationship to the Head of Sales
Location: Hybrid working available – Manor Royal, Crawley RH10

Purpose of the Role

The Business Analyst will provide Customer and Equipment Utilisation analysis in order aid decision making to maximise returns on capital investment. This analysis will inform decisions regarding the acquisition or disposal of different assets and pricing policy for those assets. They will also provide finance support to maintain the fixed asset register in order to enhance their understanding of the business and its assets.



Key Responsibilities
  • Work with the Head of Finance and the Head of Sales to produce monthly Asset Utilisation reports from both a physical and financial perspective, identifying under-utilised assets or mis-pricing issues
  • Create and maintain customer analysis reporting
  • Create and maintain product availability dashboard – the “War Room”
  • Work with the sales team to prepare accurate, timely and insightful sales forecasts on a weekly basis and present relevant information to the Sales Team and senior management on a monthly basis
  • Be responsible for the fixed asset register including accounting for additions and disposals

Person Specification
  • Strong experience of data analysis, manipulation and presentation
  • Must have good financial awareness
  • Extensive confident use of excel for analysis and modelling
  • Highly motivated and ability to work under pressure
  • Must have curious mind and eager to understand business drivers and customer behaviour
  • Good written, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Basic understanding of management accounts production and reconciliations
  • Demonstrate an ability to work with a wide range of stakeholders from senior management to junior staff
  • Desire to learn and understand the broadcast industry including basic equipment knowledge
  • Demonstrate flexibility and commitment to ensure the job gets done
